Rio de Janeiro, May 27, 2026: With 100 days to go until the gates open, Rock in Rio celebrates the arrival of another historic edition. In 2026, the world’s largest music and entertainment festival will feature several unique experiences, unprecedented collaborations, and shows that can only happen in one place: the City of Rock. In this countdown, the festival has, so far, 42 confirmed international acts, 15 of which are exclusive to Brazil within Rock in Rio. One of the main highlights is Elton John, an artist who has retired from major world tours and has chosen the festival to perform a unique show in Brazil. By taking the stage at the City of Rock, these artists will not be performing in any other city in the country, making each show an even more special experience for the audience. Among the names announced so far with exclusive performances in Brazil are Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Elton John, Stray Kids, Twenty One Pilots, Rise Against, Bring Me the Horizon, The Hives, Hwasa, NEXZ, Bad Omens, Mumford & Sons, Zara Larsson, Poppy, and Fatboy Slim, making up a lineup that spans generations, styles, and different scenes of world music. “Rock in Rio has never been just about shows. It’s about what happens when everything comes together: the audience, the artists, the emotion, the city, the world. The City of Rock is alive, it pulsates and breathes along with those who are inside. That’s what makes each edition unique,” says Roberto Medina, president and creator of Rock World. Medina adds: “In September, the festival will welcome those who have always been most important: the audience, 700,000 people. And more: around 450,000 tourists, from all over the country and other parts of the world, will be with us experiencing days of immense celebration, joy, great shows, including a list of artists who will perform exclusively at Rock in Rio. Things that only the biggest music and entertainment festival in the world does for the public! I am very proud to say this, it’s true. Not to mention the experiences that transform the City of Rock into a great meeting of people, emotions and stories. And this starts long before the gates open. Oh, and in this edition we will experience something surprising in the movement of tourists. We are observing people planning their accommodation, transportation, caravans, First Class and the whole journey to experience these days in Rio de Janeiro. In September, Brazil will move to Rio. And it really will. There won’t be room for so many people and the caravans will return in full force. They will arrive and we are prepared to welcome our fans. We will experience magical days,” he concludes, celebrating these 100 days until the biggest party in the country.

Beyond the artists, the festival arrives with remarkable innovations: the World Stage will have a completely new set design and, for the first time, its entire front structure will be covered by 2,400 m² of high-definition LED panels, transforming the space into a single, immense visual display. The largest dance floor in Rock City, the New Dance Order, also returns in 2026 with a completely new stage design, measuring 56.50 meters wide and 22.5 meters high, reinforcing its monumental presence at the festival. The stage further enhances the audience experience, while the 502m² of LED panels are one of the highlights of the visual project, creating an immersive atmosphere that integrates music, light, and movement. Another new feature is the Gourmet Square, which will feature a curated menu by chef Pedro Siqueira, recognized as one of the 100 best pizza makers in the world by The Best Pizza Awards 2025, who will also bring the gastronomy of Sìsìem to one of the restaurants in the space. Another highlight is the return of the aerial spectacle The Flight, one of the most requested moments by the public, returning after historic performances at the festival – promising even more excitement with synchronized acrobatic maneuvers, a special soundtrack, and 756 daytime fireworks displays. This year, Babilônia Feira Hype returns to Rock in Rio to celebrate 30 years of history since its first edition. This year, the space will have a new location, near the New Dance Order stage, in a structure designed by architect João Uchôa. In total, there will be 20 tents that, during the seven days of the festival, will host 60 exhibitors, with brand curation carried out by the Brazilian Institute of Culture, Fashion and Design (Inbracultmode). In addition to the tents, the public can also enjoy a program with guest DJs and an urban art installation, expanding the experience of the space and making the Fair part of the festival’s creative journey. Rock in Rio, in partnership with LightWire, announced a grand spectacle that thrilled the world and now occupies an arena in the City of Rock to engage the entire audience: ECCO. The attraction is yet another project from Rock in Rio’s Dream Factory – the creative engine that, since its first edition, has reinvented itself to surprise audiences with experiences that go far beyond music and transform ideas into unforgettable moments for millions of people. LightWire will make its debut at the festival and will transform the performance into an unprecedented sensory experience for the audience. The project is conceived as an immersive 360° journey, where light, sound, technology, body, aromas, and nature merge to create a profound and engaging narrative. In the City of Rock, the spectacle arrives inspired by the idea that the forest is the true origin of sound, proposing a reflection on the primordial vibrations of the planet – wind, water, roots, and fire – and on how human beings transform these vibrations into music, art, and emotion. Combining dancers, precise choreography, an original soundtrack with surround sound technology, mapped projections, holography, immersive audio, and technological costumes made of LED and fiber optics – which stand out for their use of PixelWear, with more than 1,500 individually controlled LED pixels, and NewDress, which uses 1,000 meters of LED-illuminated fiber optics – each of the five daily performances at the festival will last 20 minutes and have a capacity for 1,000 people inside the space.

The deadline to choose your Rock in Rio Card is June 8th at noon. For those who have already purchased a Rock in Rio Card, the deadline to choose the date of use is June 8th at noon – an essential step to guarantee your presence on your desired date before the options run out. By then, the entire line-up will have been announced, giving fans the security to calmly decide when to experience Rock City. After selling out in less than an hour, the Rock in Rio Card – a general admission ticket without a pre-defined date – is now in the day selection phase: fans who secured the Card have until June 8th at noon to decide when they will attend the festival. The choice must be made exclusively by the cardholder through the Ticketmaster Brazil website, accessing the “My Orders” area within the purchase history. Each Rock in Rio Card is valid for a single day of the festival, and the customer can choose the same or different dates, depending on the quantity purchased. Once defined, the date cannot be changed. During the selection period, the public can choose any day of the festival without risk of tickets selling out. After this period, the final decision will depend on ticket availability for each date, reinforcing the importance of completing the process in advance, especially for the most popular days. This dynamic also allows fans to follow the announcements of acts throughout the period, as the main artists for each day will be revealed before the closing of the selection window, helping the public to decide more confidently which day to experience at Rock in Rio.
