Megadeth at the Talking Stick Amphitheater in Phoenix AZ

Megadeth, Mudvayne and All that Remains last Thursday August 8th at theTalking Stick Amphitheater in Phoenix AZ

Monsoon season is in full swing and everyone at the venue had a true scare that this monstrous concert lineup was about to be postponed, cancelled, or pushed back. Luckily enough the metal gods were on our side and the storm passed and only set the concert back 12 minutes.

Metalcore favorites ‘All that Remains’ opened up the show. Phil Labonte being the only original member of the band. With the new auditions, there comes that fear it’s not the same band anymore. After hearing their set the band is still as strong and heavy as ever. It was a strong opening to the night and it’s good to see ATR still has it.

Mudvayne was next. Since the passing of ‘Vinnie Paul’ (RIP) Chad Grey found his way backto Mudvayne. Honestly, their fans are very thankful for that. There was definitely a void in the metal scene and having Mudvayne back filled that void. Who knows maybe we’ll get another album in the future! Mudvayne is tight as ever and their sound is near perfect. They came out destroyed Talking Stick Amphitheater. Its also a sight to see how connected Chad is to his fans. All in all it was a solid set and I cant wait to see what comes next from them.

It was finally time for the one and only Megadeth! Mustaine and company came In guns blazing and with a heaviness that only Megadeth can bring. It didn’t stop the until the very ebd. This was my first time seeing Megadeth and holy shit, my head felt like it was going to explode because of how good they sound live! Even while in the photo pit I caught myself lowering my camera and banging my head. Megadeth is a straight forward band with no gimmicks and rightfully so. You get what exactly what you pay for, a damn good time while listening to Metal! Of course, Vic Rattlehead the official mascot of Megadeth had to make an appearance! It’s great to see all generations out there from teenagers to the older fans.
All the fans were on the same page thrashing, and rocking out. This was an all around solid night every band was on point and we’re all thanking the Metal gods that the storm stayed clear.
