Pierce the Veil in Argentina, a journey back to our EMO adolescence.

December 12th

C Complejo Art Media Buenos Aires, Argentina

On the way to the venue, on a sweltering summer evening, we could see in the distance the line of fans waiting to enter and experience a unique night.

Opening the show was the Argentinian rock band Ramen, with a great performance.
Continuing with Pierce The Veil’s guest band, from Los Angeles, “Helth” with their electronic rock, clean sounds, and very powerful drums, a band that is a delight to see live.

The classic composition by José Alfredo Jiménez, “El Rey,” begins to play, erupting into a monumental chorus, paying homage to the Mexican roots of Vic Fuentes, leader of Pierce The Veil.
And now, yes!!! The guys take the stage, the fans started screaming and jumping enthusiastically, opening with ‘Death of an Executioner’ and wow, speechless, what strength and energy from the audience, (mostly young people, but also those of us who have followed the band since our youth). The euphoria grew with “Pass the Nirvana,” what a huge song!!!!

with abysmal heat, and a crew that didn’t stop jumping for a moment, we must highlight the great production work, attentive to everyone, and offering water throughout the show.
We experienced the beautiful connection the band has with its fans, Vic thanking everyone for being there, Jaime Preciado and Tony Perry with their charisma, constant gestures that made it a night not only of pure rock but also fun.

The setlist featured a solid mix of their acclaimed older material, with songs like “I’m Low on Gas and You Need a Jacket” and “Hell Above”, and recent tracks like “Emergency Contact” and “Circles”.
Finale arrived with “King for a Day.” The anthem of a whole generation, “Emo,” made every corner of the venue vibrate!

For the young people (who were the majority), it was a wonderful, energetic, and unforgettable show; for us “old emo” fans, it was a trip back to our rockin’ teenage years.
