Steve Harris with British Lion rocked Saturday night in Buenos Aires

Last Saturday, November 30th at the Teatrito, the English hard rock band formed in 2012 by Steve Harris, best known as the bassist for Iron Maiden, BRITISH LION made us feel the preview of what Maiden would be like the next two days in Argentina.

Opening the evening JERIKO, the Argentine heavy and Power metal band formed in 1992, celebrating more than 30 years of career, Jeriko has a performance worthy of supporting an emblematic band like British Lion and has also been chosen by the recently deceased legendary Paul Dianno, (first singer of Iron Maiden) to accompany him on several of his tours.
How these guys sound live!!

It was time for the special guest, Tony MooreHe was a member ( keyboardist) of Iron Maiden in the late 1970s before the release of their first album. He was very briefly in an early line-up of the fledgling Iron Maiden but remained friends with Steve Harris over the years, which landed him as the opening act on the tour with British Lion.

The Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Tony spoke to us in Spanish throughout his show, which allowed us to see how adorable he is. Moore tells us that as a kid he got to see Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, and Ziggy Stardust. And he ended up wanting to be all of them.
He also mentioned that he took care of his mother during her illness and that he dedicated a beautiful song to her, which we had the pleasure of hearing live.
His show is a multi-media one-man, and it was so fun!

The long-awaited moment of the night arrived: seeing the great and incomparable Steve Harris on stage with his band British Lion.
Starting with “This Is My God”, with a resounding sold-out, the small venue was overflowing with fans, it felt like it was exploding with the euphoria and fervor of their fans.
There’s some real powerhouse rhythm, front, and center of the band’s sound, a great collection of songs.

We know that most of the audience was there for Harris, but let’s not discount the other wonderful members. The band themselves (Richard Taylor – on lead vocals, David Hawkins and Grahame Leslie – on guitars, and Simon Dawson – on drums, alongside Steve Harris on bass) work incredibly together, the crowd contains many dedicated British Lion fans, not simply Iron Maiden fans wanting to get a glimpse of Harris in the flesh.

The setlist was made up of their two studio albums, including “Spit Fire,” “Legend,” and “Land of the Perfect People,” among others. In this last song, we can enjoy Richard Taylor’s wonderful vocal range.

Great move by Steve to bring his band to play before his performance with Iron Maiden, to get us all in high spirits for the unforgettable Iron Maiden concerts the next few days!
