ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN and MARKO HIETALA “a Magic Night”

Last Sunday, October 1st, I had the big pleasure to cover a beautiful acoustic show of the incredible artists ANNEKE VAN GIERSBERGEN, (the dutch Vocalist of THE GATHERING) and MARKO HIETALA ( The Finnish Singer and bassist of NIGHTWISH)

The Venue “Teatro Flores” in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a perfect place to enjoy a magic evening!

Opening the night the Argentinian band BOUDIKA delighting us all with a beautiful acoustic.

The turn came for the long-awaited Marko Hietala!! With his guitarist Tuomas Wäinölä, The first song was “Stones”, from his Solo album “Pyre of the Black Heart”, The song began with an intro on a 12-string guitar, a bass that came in little by little.

Also played the song “Two Soldiers” (previewing the new album), the “covers moments came” with “Children of the Grave” by Black Sabbath, and “Crazy Train” by OZZY OSBOURNE.

The Audience was fascinated with Marko!

When the Diva Anneke took the stage with her adorable smile, the fans didn’t stop screaming! Anneke and Marko performed together “Child of Babylon” by Whitesnake.

The boys say goodbye for a while, leaving Anneke alone on this occasion.

Anneke performed songs such as “Lo and Behold”, “I Saw a Car” and “Hurricane, With the audience, surrendered to her charm, she started to sing the songs from THE GATHERING “Saturnine” and “The May Song”. The emotional moment for me was when she performed the cover “Like a Stone” from AUDIOSLAVE (The unforgettable Chris Cornell).

Hietala returned to the stage to perform more songs together! “Catch the Rainbow” by RAINBOW, “Wasted Years” by IRON MAIDEN, “I See Fire” by ED SHEERAN, “Strange Machines” by THE GATHERING, “The Islander” by NIGHTWISH y “Perry Mason” by OZZY OSBOURNE.

The epic moment was when Marko played for a moment the famous Tango “Por una Cabeza”.

When the concert came to an end, the audience started to say “Una mas y no jodemos mas” and at that moment they played “The Sound of Silence” by SIMON & GARFUNKEL.

Was an unforgettable and lovely night!

Marko is returning to Argentina next March 3, with Tarja at the teatro Vorterix tickets on sale
