BRING ME THE HORIZON The best show of 2024

Last Sunday, December 8th, On my way to the Movistar Arena, I didn’t know I would experience the best night of 2024.

Of course, I had high expectations, Knowing the quality of the shows that Bring Me The Horizon presents in each place they visit, but it has surpassed everything! This wasn’t just another coverage for me, it was special since it’s a band I’ve been listening to since its beginnings when I was still in my teens.

The band was formed in 2004 in Sheffield, by the leader and vocalist Oliver Sykes, With 20 years of a career already, BMTH has achieved resounding success, in its beginnings with a rather heavy deathcore, going through Metal Core, and becoming an electronic Pop Rock band, but with the essence of heavy rock always present in the powerful screams of Oli.

Opening the evening the Argentine Death Core band “Nvlo”, formed in 2018, with a pandemic in between, and a short career still, the boys have achieved indisputable success, touring the world, and opening for big bands, already the day began with big mosh pit while the crowd arrived at the venue.

Continuing the Metal Core band The Plot In You, formed in 2010 in Ohio. What great power these guys have on stage, they managed to get the audience out of control in an unbridled way.

Now…. Yes!!! The long-awaited moment of the night has arrived! The lights went out, and on the screens a robotic girl began to speak in Spanish, presenting what we were about to witness. With the lights dimming, Matt Nicholss (drummer)  took the stage and started to play “Darkside” (POSTHUMAN: NeX GEn) Throwing a lot of colored papers, the wonderful Oli began to sing and the euphoric fans immediately began to scream, sing, jump without stopping.

They continued with “Mantra“, (hits released in 2019) The fervor grew minute by minute in a Movistar full of fans with incredible energy.

When “Happy Song” began, Oli stepped off the stage to sing with his fans for a few moments, (but this would not be the only time at the night that Oli would get close and share with his fans in such a close way).

After the powerful song “Teardrops”, it started with an extended intro “Amen”! Oli thanked his fans and said how much he had missed them.

After a short interlude, Oli returned to the stage with a torch to play the famous hit “Shadow Moses” a song that video game lovers have played on “Guitar Hero for Play Station 4”. With the fans chanting at full.

Then arrived “Sleepwalking”. While the boys take a short break we can see Rebellion’s Cyber Attack on the screens, things that keep the audience entertained throughout the concert.

“Kingslayer” started with some incredible lacers, (song Feat with BABYMETAL) with animated images on the screens, simulating the girls, the audience dancing and singing.

Oli takes his time choosing a fan to sing a song with him, while they are preparing, on the screen we can see a simulator of selecting a song going through several tracks from his career, such as Medicine / Oh No / Seen It All Before / True Friends / a bulleT w/ my namE On / The House of Wolves / Pray for Plagues / The Comedown, but the one chosen to sing with the fan was “Antivist”, The powerful screams of the guy have left us all dazzled.

A beautiful moment was when “Follow You” started and everyone was lighting up with their cell phones and we could hear Oli singing in a sweeter way.

With an extensive intro begins the most famous and listened to song of the band, the beautiful “Can You Feel My Hear“, The mosh went completely out of control, and we all started jumping and singing like crazy.

BMTH left the stage before the encore, and the emotional moment of the night arrived. On the screens, we could enjoy images from the beginning, and the old school of Bring Me made some tears of emotion fall.

With laser lights, the band returned to the stage this time to close with “Drown” (a song with which Oli came down from the stage again to share with the fans, but this time filming the images and transmitting them live through the screens) and the end came with “Throne”.

I can only say, that this was a show that had it all, a wonderful and impeccable sound as we are used to hearing with Bring Me The Horizon, Oli‘s voice intact, with his screams that reach us deep in the soul, fireworks, funny and emotional images on the screens, ( with a video game theme). I dare say that it was the show of 2024 without a doubt!

We look forward to his return very soon.
