Interview with DISCHORD
We have the pleasure of interviewing the Hard Rock band from Venezuela, “DISCHORD” With more than 20 years of career, before their to visit Argentina, talking to us about their beginnings, new single, tour, and more…
SUNRAY: Hi guys, Dischord was formed in Caracas Venezuela, in 2002, We would like you to tell us more about how it all started.
Dischord: The band started in 2001, but we didn’t got the first show until 2004. Daniel and Raul, who were the founders met in school and had a punk rock band, and formed Dischord trying to blend Metal and Punk.
SUNRAY: Who Are Your Biggest Influences?
Dischord: The influences in the beginning were a lot of punk. Strung Out, Death By Stereo, Thrice and of course thrash metal like Slayer and Metallica. Now it’s more open and wide, we’re influenced by everything.
SUNRAY: With more than 20 years of career, touring several countries, and sharing the stage with bands like Metallica, Lamb Of God, and Mastodon, just to mention a few, we know that it is not easy to grow and succeed in the world of music, and you have been achieving it day by day during all these years, how does it feel to come so far?
Dischord: Thank you! Appreciate that. It hasn’t been easy like, like you say. So many times we were in the verge of ending the band, but somehow we made it through. We still feel there’s a lot of things to do, MUSICALLY and band-wise. We’re still learning.
SUNRAY: Who would you most like to collaborate with?
Dischord: We actually had Efrem from Death By Stereo in a song. That was a dream and it’s pretty wild to see it a reality. We would love to have Randy from Lamb of God in a song. Or Jason from Strung Out.
SUNRAY: In the recordings you have had the privilege of working with renowned producers such as Tue Madsen. How was that experience?
Dischord: He was great. Very friendly with us and made us sound like we had it in our minds. Really cool dude.
SUNRAY: Please tell us about the recently released single “And After All”
Dischord: And After All is basically an ode to the band. A tribute to the band and the fact we didn’t broke up. We’ve been through a lot in 20+ years, and the fact that we’re still doing it, it’s crazy.
SUNRAY: What is the song that can never be missing from a show?
Dischord: I think We are the call, because it’s a song that people seems to enjoy. Venomous Race too but because we love the song. Forbidden is another cool one.
SUNRAY: Next August 17th you will be performing at the Uniclub, Argentina, How is returning to this country after 7 years? And how are you preparing for that long-awaited evening? Can you tell us something about what we can enjoy that night?
Dischord: It’s amazing. We’re so excited to come back and especially with bands like Clamor and Ajeno, which they’re doing something amazing right now in the local scene. We want to reach as much people from Argentina, being one of the best audience in the world, IF NOT THE BEST. We’re very happy, and excited to come back and I personally love Buenos Aires, so I’m stoked!
Dischord will be performing in Argentina Next August 17, at the Uniclub (Guardiavieja 3360, CABA)
