A night of pure rock with Avenged Sevenfold

After canceling their Latin American tour last October 2025 due to vocalist Matt Shadows’ health issues, which took fans by surprise, Avenged Sevenfold.  To make matters worse, Mr. Bungle, who were scheduled to perform a separate show around the same time, also withdrew.

Of course, fans were stunned and saddened, so both bands quickly announced new dates for 2026, with the big surprise that Mr. Bungle would be Avenged Sevenfold’s special guest.

After telling them how Mr. Bungle joined the gig tour with A7x, we’re ready to talk about one of the most wonderful nights in years.

At 8 o’clock, Mr. Bungle took the stage, known not only for being a great thrash metal band, but also for being a “Super Group” made up of Mike Patton, singer and leader, Scott Ian of Anthrax, and Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer).

Their setlist was a short tour through their discography in general, going through “Anarchy Up Your Anus”, “Eracist”, the surprise came with “Retrovertigo” where Matt Shadows came up to sing along with Mike Patton, the crowd exploded.

Mike’s interaction with the audience was very entertaining; he spoke very good Spanish and said very funny things all the time.

The rest of their repertoire consisted of covers such as “Refuse / Resist” by Sepultura, and other passages of pure fun, such as covers of “Hopelessly Devoted to You” by Olivia Newton-John, and “Funkytown” by Lipps Inc.

Closing the show in a very bizarre way, with “All by Myself” (Eric Carmen cover), (changed to “Go to hell”), with the audience singing and laughing at the same time.

And the moment arrived, yes! The great moment awaited for more than a decade, Avenged Sevenfold took the stage to a sea of screams from their excited fans, happy to see their favorite band back on the stages of Argentina.

It started with “Game Over”, “Mattel”, OMG, what madness broke out at Movistar at that moment, those of us at the front feeling the intense mosh pit, pushing, a little bit of everything, the euphoria that was expected, and even more!

As if that wasn’t enough, they continued with “Afterlife,” the incredible “Hail to the King,” which he dedicated to his Argentinian fans, a string of hits invaded the venue, “Gunslinger,” one of my favorites, with which I already began to shed a tear on my cheek. Continuing with “Buried Alive,” what a way to jump with this song!

The performance included a poignant moment, with a dedication to their late drummer, Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. During “So Far Away,” M. Shadows paused the show to ask the audience to cherish their loved ones and dedicated the song to all the family and friends who have passed away. Of course, all of us who have lost a family member or loved one (in my case, my parents) wept as we sang along with deep emotion.

After that very moving moment, “Bat Country” and “Nightmare” came along to get us all pumped up again, with huge mosh pits!

When “Unholy Confessions” started playing, the fans mysteriously stopped recording with their cell phones, and they were seen enjoying themselves jumping and singing; it looked like a show from the 2000s, a beautiful moment.

After a short break, they launched into “Save Me,” closing the unforgettable show with “A Little Piece of Heaven,” leaving the audience on a high!

What a fantastic performance we enjoyed, filled with breakdowns, riffs, and full-throttle choruses, proving that good rock is still alive, vibrant, and young, for rockers of all ages and new generations alike! We hope they return to the country very soon!
