The Amity Affliction In Argentina, The long-awaited reunion to let off steam
Thursday, March 3rd, was the Australian band’s grand return to the country. Last time it was in Palermo, and this time it would be back in the Abasto neighborhood. Uniclub would be the venue for these Australian metalcore acts, The Amity Affliction.
The doors opened at 7:00 PM, a pretty good time in a city that’s already starting to get cold on the streets, but inside it was always a warm place of jumping, screaming, moshing, and circle pits. Opening this show was the Argentine band “El Nueve Once,” which is starting to play songs from their new album that came out recently. Their singer was on stage for one or two songs and then said, “Those who know me know that this little place is like locking me in a cage.” So he took his microphone and addressed the audience. He spent most of the show singing and moshing with the entire audience, encouraging them to jump, move, and sing along to some songs.

A show that left the audience quite crazy waiting for The Amity Affliction. The curtain closed, and people began to shout the classic “olé, olé, olé olé amity.” You could see the excitement in people’s eyes with the night that was coming.
For almost the entire show, you could see Joel (vocalist) smiling every time they got on stage and jumped back into the audience. At one point, he signaled to a girl who was pointing her cell phone flash at him, blocking his camera because the flash was bothering him too much. He was always grateful to the audience, saying a few words in Spanish.
The crowd kept jumping up and down, approaching the stage and singing along to some parts, although at one point, a boy snatched the mic from Joel, which he didn’t like very much. On stage, a boy gave him an Argentine flag with the lyrics of The Amity Affliction on it, which he left at the foot of the drum kit.
