Historic punk rock night with The Damned

Last Saturday 15th at the Teatro Flores the legendary British band The Damned, with almost 50 years of experience, and their original group, visited Argentina to show us that age is just a number, and they can give everything and more!

Opening the night Semillas de Maldad, Dub Clash Orquesta, but the last opening artist was another punk legend the great TV Smith, the English singer-songwriter who was part of the punk band The Adverts in the late 1970s. Since then he has fronted other bands, as well as pursuing a solo career.
With just an acoustic guitar, he gave us an incredible show, playing songs from his former group, solo, and “Pushed Again” from Die Toten Hosen, at which point the audience went completely wild!

Now yes!! The Damned took the stage and the crowd erupted with excitement! (It’s worth noting the very diverse audience, both in age and clothing, very unique to observe).

Starting with “Love Song” (from Machine Gun Etiquette album, 1979), “What energy these guys have”, taking a tour through the band’s early years, which fans felt like they were on a journey back in time! Of course, they didn’t leave out songs from their latest works.
We saw the constant interaction with the audience, whose charisma, friendliness, and joy overflowed on stage.

In my opinion, the highlight of the night was when Rat Scabies, after a wonderful solo, set his drum cymbals on fire!!
But it didn’t end there after a break the band came out with bouquets of flowers to give to the audience!!

All I can say is, what a show! They gave it their all, with energy and power throughout their long set!
