Michel Peyronel, recognized as outstanding cultural personality

Last Tuesday, September 24th, we had the pleasure of covering the recognition as an outstanding personality of the culture of a legend of Argentine heavy metal Michel Peyronel, at the Golden Hall of the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires, Led by legislator Patricia Glize, who highlighted “He is a living legend of Argentine rock, who left a huge mark on what Argentine heavy metal is”.

Founder of the famous band Riff, He was called by Pappo and occupied the place of drummer, and singer and was the composer of some of the great songs of the band, such as Susy Cadillac, and Qué Sea Rock, at an international level with Tarzen, formed in Spain.

Peyronel was also the artistic producer of several legendary national rock groups and the albums he produced by Violadores, Virus, Attaque 77, Visitantes, Los Tipitos, and others are today cult objects.

In 1987 he had the idea of creating an FM station exclusively for Tango because he thought that a city like Buenos Aires deserved to have a radio station dedicated to its music, something unimaginable for a rock star, and it was a huge success, winning two Martín Fierro awards, an “Ondas 91” award from Cadena SER for the best Ibero-American radio station and was a finalist in the “New York Festival”.

At the end of the 2000s, he formed the band Héroes del Asfalto with his son Jean Jacques, and currently, also together with Peyronel junior, they are leading the tribute project to Riff, Michel, y los Humanoides.

Last Saturday, September 28th they performed at the Argentine festival “Vivimos Musica”
